Dichroic Glass

The technical term is derived from

two Greek roots, "di" for two and

"Chroma" for color. So "dichroic"

literally means "two colored".

This glass appears to be diverse colors

when viewed from different angles. It is

created by adding a thin layer of metallic oxides to glass.

It transmits certain wave lengths while reflecting others,

causing an iridescent effect. It is very hard for computer

monitors to capture the true colors of these beautiful pieces.
